About Us

Writing Center tutoring is a free service for all PNW students and staff.

Our knowledgeable staff is happy to help with any stage of the writing process, including brainstorming, researching, organizing ideas, drafting, revising for overall content, or identifying common errors. We can offer help with any assignment for any course or other writing, such as scholarship applications.

Students can choose between in-person tutoring on campus, synchronous online tutoring (via video chat), or asynchronous eTutoring (via uploaded documents and email). For help making an appointment, please get in touch with us at writingcenter@pnw.edu.

Mission, Vision and Core Values

Purdue University Northwest Writing Center’s mission is to provide a calm and positive space, both in-person and online, for students, staff, and faculty of all backgrounds to seek help for their writing needs through client-led tutoring sessions.

We exist to help understand the world through the written word. We exist to help students gain independence and confidence in their writing. We exist to provide professional development to tutors and clients.

These goals are achieved through collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking to make possible positive changes in our shared world.

Purdue University Northwest Writing Center’s vision is to become a safe space for students to seek out for its dedication to their core values and practices by highlighting policies, pedagogies, and efforts in academic writing for students of all backgrounds.
