Varsity Esports Tryouts and Club Esports Information

Good afternoon PNW students,

We are very excited to have everyone back on campus. This email will be providing some information on what we have planned next week regarding varsity esports at PNW. We will send more information out next week regarding club esports.

We will be having a varsity title for five games this year: League of Legends, Call of Duty, Rocket League, Valorant and Super Smash Brothers Ultimate.

If you are interested in trying out for these teams, please email Coach Bragg at Bragg10@pnw.edu with the subject of the email ‘esports tryouts’ and the following information:

League of Legends

  • Op.gg of your solo que ranking
  • Student ID number
  • Year in school (Freshman, Sophomore, etc.)
  • Discord name and tag

Rocket League

  • Rocket League Tracker for your account
  • Student ID number
  • Year in school (Freshman, Sophomore, etc.)
  • Discord name and tag

Valorant

  • Valorant Tracker for your account
  • Student ID number
  • Year in school (Freshman, Sophomore, etc.)
  • Discord name and tag

Call of Duty

  • Your skill division in league play
  • Activision ID and Tag
  • Student ID number
  • Year in school (Freshman, Sophomore, etc.)
  • Discord name and tag

Super Smash Brothers Ultimate

  • Student ID number
  • Year in school (Freshman, Sophomore, etc.)
  • Discord name and tag

If you are looking to try out for the varsity League of Legends team, you need to be at least Master in solo que ranking. If you are looking to try out for varsity Rocket League, you need to be at least GC1 in 3v3. If you are looking to try out for varsity Valorant you need to be at least Ascendant 1. Call of Duty currently has no rank restrictions to try out. Super Smash Brothers Ultimate will have no rank restrictions.

Tryouts for League of Legends will be:

Friday, September 2 from 6 to 10 p.m. virtually

Rocket League tryouts will be:

Wednesday: August 31 from 7 to 10 p.m. virtually 

Thursday: September 1 from 7 to 10 p.m. virtually 

Friday: September 2 from 7 to 10 p.m. virtually 

 Call of Duty tryouts will be:

Wednesday: August 31 from 7 to 10 p.m. virtually 

Friday: September 2 from 7 to 10 p.m. virtually 

Super Smash Brothers Ultimate tryouts will be:

Wednesday: August 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. virtually 

Please email Coach Bragg by Monday, August 29 if you are interested in trying out for any of the teams.  If you do not email Coach Bragg by 11:59 PM on August 29, you will not be able to try out for the teams.  This is to allow ample time to set up the tryouts and create the best experience for those who are trying out.

Tryouts will happen in the PNW Discord. Please join the Discord so you can have access to our voice channels during tryouts. Message Coach Bragg via Discord that you are trying out so you can get the roles necessary to access the voice channels.

If you are not any of the required ranks to try for varsity teams, we will be creating an Esports club. If you are interested in more information about the Esports club, we will be collecting student information to gauge interest at the Esports booth during Welcome Week from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hammond Campus and sending out more information about the Esports club next week. If you cannot attend, please email Coach Bragg at Bragg10@pnw.edu with the subject “Club Esports” and the following information:
