To the Campus Community:

A suspect has been identified in the incident of sexual battery – fondling that occurred in the Hammond Campus parking garage on Thursday, Feb. 23. The case has been presented to the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office for formal review and a decision on charges.

Many thanks to our PNW Police officers for round-the-clock investigative work that resulted in identifying a suspect within less than a day of the incident and bringing the suspect in for questioning. We also appreciate the quick response and assistance of the Hammond Police Department, FBI Gang Response Investigative Team (GRIT) and Lake County High Intensity Drug Task Force Area (HIDTA) Program.

The investigation is ongoing as we await a decision by the prosecutor’s office about charges. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the PNW Police Department at (219) 989-2220.
