Student Spotlight: Sonny Santana

PNW senior Sonny Santana is majoring in communication with a concentration in broadcasting. His career goal is to work in sports production.

One of Santana’s favourite memories at Purdue Northwest is taking the practicum course in spring 2019. “I met a lot of great people who turned out to be some of my best friends, and to actually run a live television show that airs on Lakeshore PBS is really, really valuable,” says this Hammond resident.

Outside the classroom, Santana has honed his skills as an intern for WJOB. “I’ve been down to the wire when it comes to experiencing stressful situations, and I’ve had the opportunity to learn from that as a student,” he stated. “Getting hands-on experience with WJOB is tremendous in terms of helping me prepare for the next stage in my life.”
