Strategic Planning Focus Groups in Westville – You Are Invited

August 5, 2024
Purdue University Northwest Technology Building

Dear Campus Community,

We are making excellent progress with the strategic planning process!

We have held 15 focus group sessions so far with various units across the institution to gather data and other important information that will help inform the success of the PNW strategic planning process.

Thirty more sessions are scheduled during the month of August, including individual sessions with all academic departments and some student groups. To allow as much participation as possible and to accommodate schedule conflicts, there are also four open sessions scheduled next week at the Westville Campus. Please see below for details on those sessions.

Location for all sessions is Dworkin  Student Services and Activities Complex (DSAC) Room 1113.

You are invited to attend any of these sessions that fit your schedule.  Please feel free to just arrive; no RSVP required.

Topics

The questions being discussed in the focus group sessions are:

Current

  1. What are you most proud of accomplishing during your time here as a faculty member, staff member, or student?
  2. Reflecting on your time at PNW, what do you think the university has done well? What could the university improve?
  3. What do you believe the university stands for (to students, the community, etc.)?

Future (Next 3 – 5 years)

  1. What are the major drivers of change that will affect higher education in the future (operations, scholarship, teaching, etc.)?
  2. How might these drivers of change influence the way we operate as a university and within your unit?
  3. If all constraints were removed from our conversation, what additional ideas would you like to explore?

Remember to check pnw.edu/strategic-plan periodically to see the latest developments as the new plan unfolds. We thank everyone who has already participated in a focus group and look forward to hearing from all members of the PNW community. Your participation and input are essential to the success of the process!
