Purdue University Northwest’s (PNW) White Lodging School of Hospitality and Tourism Management in the College of Business has been honored as a Business Partner of the Year by TradeWinds Services, Inc.

TradeWinds, located in Merrillville, Indiana, is a full-service organization that provides services for infants to adults with all abilities and special needs, empowering them to realize their full potential.

Under the leadership of Kwangsoo Park, associate dean of the College of Business and director of the White Lodging School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and Pitparnee Stompor, clinical professor of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM), TradeWinds’ clients received hands-on experience in a restaurant environment. The visiting students performed tasks including hosting, preparing for dining room guests and bussing tables. PNW HTM students also collaborated in assisting TradeWinds clients, earning valuable skills in addressing different abilities and fostering an inclusive workspace.

Park and Stompor accepted the Business Partner of the Year award on behalf of PNW during TradeWinds’ annual luncheon.

This award highlights PNW and the College of Business’s commitment to community engagement and inclusivity.
