Public Records and Subpoenas
The office of the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration (VCFA) is responsible for responding to requests directed to PNW for both public records and subpoenas.
If your department receives a written or emailed request for a public record, please immediately email the request to public.recordsrequests@pnw.edu, including the date it was received and the recipient’s name. PNW must respond to such requests promptly, so it is essential that they be forwarded without delay.
For verbal or in-person requests, direct the requester to the PNW Public Records website or instruct them to contact the Record Request Administrator at (219) 989-2232 for further guidance.
Similarly, if your department receives a subpoena, please immediately forward it immediately to public.recordsrequests@pnw.edu, including the date and recipient. Subpoenas are time sensitive and require an urgent response. Please ensure that your department’s mail-handling includes protocol for same day forwarding of subpoenas, even if staff work a remote or on a hybrid schedule.
