Dear PNW Community:

I am pleased to invite you to hear from the first of three finalists and to provide your feedback to help inform the selection of the next Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of Purdue University Northwest.

The Provost Search Advisory Committee met with multiple candidates and has made recommendations to me for those to move forward in the process. Each finalist will participate in an open forum in Alumni Hall in the Student Union and Library Building on the Hammond campus, with a Zoom option to view the presentation live. The candidates also will be meeting with representative groups of faculty, staff and administrators on both PNW campuses.

The topic for each candidate’s presentation is: “PNW Moving Forward as a Metropolitan University: Challenges and Opportunities in Higher Education.”

The first candidate’s open forum is next week:

Brien SmithBrien Smith

Special Assistant to the President and former Provost at Youngstown State University, and Professor of Industrial Psychology

The forum is open to all members of the university community. There will be a Q&A session included for those attending in person in Alumni Hall. Please note that no questions or comments will be facilitated in the Zoom option. Each candidate’s session will be recorded, and recordings will be posted to the PNW website after all finalists have had a chance to present to the university community.

The other two finalists’ information will be provided early next week.

Your participation and feedback in this process are important and very much appreciated.

Sincerely,

PNW Chancellor Holford
