Statistics and Data Science Concentration Overview
The statistics and data science program at PNW prepares students for careers based on the use of sophisticated computational skills and provides the opportunity for students to work with talented peers and experienced faculty on research projects in applied mathematics and statistics. This concentration is aimed at students who wish to develop a career in statistics or related disciplines, including data analytics and data science.

It emphasizes on providing both programming skills and statistical methods needed for data-driven decision making. Teamwork and communication of results are the key elements of the program.
Statistics and Data Science Curriculum
As a Statistics and Data Science student, you’ll take a balance of general education courses, College of Engineering and Sciences core courses and applied mathematics and statistics courses. This 120-credit-hour program features coursework in classical and applied mathematics as well as teamwork and communication to assist you in your future career.
You’ll dive deep into concepts of mathematics, computing and statistics to understand and adapt to rapidly changing, real-world applications.
Take general education core courses, learn about programming and the first course in the calculus sequence while you adjust to university life.
