PNW hosts the 2025 Midwest Regional Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition

Purdue University Northwest hosted over 130 college students representing 10 colleges and universities at the 2025 Midwest Regional Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition.
Purdue University Northwest’s (PNW) College of Technology hosted the 2025 Midwest Regional Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC), bringing together over 130 college student competitors from 10 colleges and universities for two days of cybersecurity contests.
Participants faced real-world cyber challenges, including defending networks against simulated attacks while maintaining critical business operations.
“We are so thrilled to have hosted the Midwest Regional CCDC competition for the first time at PNW,” said Keyuan Jiang, chair of the department of Computer Information Technology and Graphics. “The incredible teamwork of the College of Technology made the competition event extremely successful.”
Hosting the CCDC for the Midwest region was an excellent opportunity for PNW and our commitment to support cybersecurity education, workforce development and professional development opportunities.
“The CCDC has a long history and is a nationally-recognized cybersecurity competition for college students,” said Michael Tu, professor of Computer Information Technology and director of PNW’s Center for Cybersecurity. “Hosting the CCDC for the Midwest region was an excellent opportunity for PNW and our commitment to support cybersecurity education, workforce development and professional development opportunities.”
