New Scheduling Procedure

  • Instructors will enter the dates of their exams into AIM.
  • Students will only be able to schedule on the dates that their instructors list in AIM.
    • If a student needs to test outside the exam date listed by their instructor, the student will need to call the PAC at (219) 989-2455 or email the pac@pnw.edu with a DISABILITY-related excuse for not scheduling on the date of the exam.
  • If an instructor has not provided exam dates at the time of scheduling, AIM will allow the student to schedule their exam, but they will be asked to move their exam to the appropriate date and time once the instructor inputs their exam date(s).

Extended Time Start Times

The times listed below are the latest time a student can schedule their exam based on a student’s extended time (based on a 75 minute exam).

Frequently Asked Questions

Exams need to be scheduled at least one week in advance. Exams scheduled less than one week before the exam week may need to be scheduled by the PNW Accessibility Center. AIM will no longer allow late exam requests, email or call the PNW Accessibility Center to schedule your exam/quiz.

*Business days are only days that the PNW Accessibility Center are open. For example, if you are scheduling an exam in AIM on the Thursday before for an exam that takes place the following Monday, the exam request will be considered late. Exams scheduled after 4:30 p.m. on a day are counted as being scheduled on the next business day. For example, if you schedule after 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, AIM will count that request as being scheduled on Wednesday and will count one less day toward when your exam takes place. Exams scheduled after 4:30 p.m. on Friday are counted as being scheduled on the following Monday.

Scheduling 4 requests for exams/quizzes late in a semester without a VALID excuse will result in further late exam/quiz requests being denied and you will need to make other arrangements to take the exam/quiz. Exams requested late may result in the student being scheduled in the PNW Testing Center.

Student IDs will be required for all students for every exam to be taken in the PNW Accessibility Center. This includes students who regularly test in the PNW Accessibility Center. Be sure to always have your Student ID. You can get a replacement ID online.

PNW Accessibility Center students are able to test in either the PNW Accessibility Center or with the PNW Testing Center at Hammond or Westville based on their accommodations.

When scheduling with the PNW Testing Center, you will need to schedule in BOTH AIM and with the Testing Center.

When scheduling with the Testing Center, you will need to call 219.989.2504 for Hammond or 219.785.5326 for Westville or email testingcenter@pnw.edu to schedule your exam with the Testing Center.

Always check to make sure your extended time is set for an online exam BEFORE starting it. An exam’s timing cannot be changed if it has been started in Brightspace. Let the PNW Accessibility Center know as soon as possible if accommodations are not in place for online exams.

The PNW Accessibility Center is unable to accommodate walk-in exams.

Students have a testing location accommodation (L). If you have multiple testing location accommodations, choose only one location while scheduling. AIM will not allow your exam to be scheduled if you do not make a selection OR if you choose multiple locations.

  • L – Private Testing Room at PNW Accessibility Center: This is similar to testing rooms in PNW Accessibility Center Hammond.
  • L- Westville PNW Accessibility Center/Hammond PNW Accessibility Center Pods: This is similar to the testing space in PNW Accessibility Center Westville and SULB 339 Lounge or SULB 321.
  • L – Testing Center Hammond: This is similar to testing space in the Hammond PNW Testing Center in SULB 318
  • L – Testing Center Westville: This is similar to the testing space in the Westville Testing Center in TECH 265.

AIM will not allow your exam to be scheduled if you do not make a selection OR if you choose multiple locations.

The PNW Accessibility Center will use a set (or block) schedule to accommodate as many students as possible. You can schedule your final exams as soon as you know the date, even during the first week of school once you receive your syllabus. Private rooms are assigned to students based on when they are scheduled. The earlier you schedule, the better chance you have of being placed in a private room should you need one. The summer session does not follow the regular semester finals schedule.

Students can schedule:

  • Monday – Thursday at Hammond and Westville: 8 a.m., 8:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.
  • Friday at Hammond: 8 a.m., 8:15 a.m., 9 a.m., and 9:15 a.m.

Schedule your exam as close to your original final exam time as possible. You can choose to schedule before your test is scheduled to originally take place but you can choose the next available spot if you do want to start an exam before the rest of your peers. If there are no time slots available at your preferred time you should choose the next available time slot on that day.

You can refer to this schedule to find when your Final is originally scheduled.
