Sherri Newman

Introduction

Sherri Newman teaches various courses in the Undergraduate program at Purdue University Northwest.

Teaching Focus

Sherri is the lead instructor for NUR 39700, Nursing Care of the Aged, Disabled and Chronically Ill. She has also been involved in Nursing Assessment, Simulation, Foundations of Nursing. Sherri is also experienced in clinical instruction for Adult 2, Maternal Health, and Community Nursing.

Previous Roles

Sherri continues to work at the bedside in both Obstetrics and Med/Surg. Before teaching, she worked full time in Obstetrics for 15 years. Prior to that position, she worked bedside in Med/Surg for 10 years. Sherri also has prior experience in the Neonatal ICU and Extended Care.

Fun Fact

In her free time, Sherri loves to create decorated sugar cookies! She makes them for birthdays, weddings, showers and holidays. This is a way of relaxing and allowing her to help bring joy to others.
