Research Overview

My research interests involve understanding how organizations can better support their missions, particularly when dealing with vulnerable populations. For example, how NGOs are supporting survivors of child sex trafficking, including ensuring effective measurements of their programming and interventions are in place to maximize their outcomes.

I believe in research that identifies practical solutions, leveraging academic rigor to support organizational operations.

Teaching Focus

I believe that students learn best when they are actively engaged in their own learning. Therefore, I strive to create an environment that is student-centered and balanced between learning theory as well as practical application of those concepts.

My teaching passion is on courses that require critical thinking, including ethical concepts, global context and subjects such as leadership or intercultural interactions that rely on a balance of self-awareness and an understanding of the topic.

Previous Roles

Prior to working at PNW, I was a business executive. Over my 20+ year career, I spent most of my time in consulting with a specialization in global human resources and, most recently, client management. I’ve had the opportunity to work with many Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies consulting on talent strategies, change transformation, organizational design and leadership development.

Currently, I also serve as the VP of Research and Workforce Trends for The Leader’s Edge, a boutique consulting firm focused on leadership development.
