Melissa Meinen, Psy.D.

Introduction

Dr. Melissa Meinen received her Psy.D. and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL. Her B.S. in Psychology is from University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Dr. Meinen completed her predoctoral internship at Northern Illinois University Counseling & Consultation Services and a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Iowa State University Student Counseling Services.

Dr. Meinen’s has experience working with students experiencing trauma recovery, interpersonal violence, family-of-origin issues, relationship concerns, depression, grief and loss, and identity development and exploration. She also has interest in supervising developing clinicians, group counseling, and social justice and advocacy. Dr. Meinen utilizes an integrative approach to psychotherapy, which incorporates interpersonal process and relational theories. Additionally, she utilizes skills and concepts from CBT and 3rd wave models of treatment.
