Introduction

Professor I-Hsuan Lin is an Assistant Professor of Social Work in the Department of Behavioral Sciences at Purdue University Northwest. Professor Lin has many years of direct and indirect social work practice experience working with women and their families in government and NPO settings.

Research Overview

Her primary research interest is the gendered work-family interface, with a particular focus on caregivers’ work-family conflict (WFC) and structural solutions. Professor Lin is also involved in aging research, focusing on the civic engagement of older adults and elder abuse and mistreatment. Her research has resulted in multiple international and national presentations and the publication of peer-reviewed journal articles.

Teaching Focus

Professor Lin’s teaching interests include, but are not limited to, Introduction to Social Work, Introduction to Social Policy and Programs, Human Behavior in the Social Environment, Diversity and Identities, Research Methods, etc.

Previous Roles

Before joining Purdue University Northwest, Professor Lin taught at Indiana University and The College of Saint Rose.
