Catrina Terrell

Student Success Coach and Peer Mentor Coordinator

Catrina Terrell

Introduction

Catrina started working at PNW in 2021 as the academic advisor for Behavioral Sciences programs. In August 2023, she transitioned to the new role of Student Success Coach and Peer Mentor Coordinator.  She believes advising was the best training for this role because of the opportunity to directly impact student success.

With students on academic notice being the primary focus, she can relate to the challenges of this academic status because she experienced being on probation as an undergraduate student. Reflecting on this experience and listening to student needs, ONWARD Planning was created to assist students along the journey to academic recovery.

Peer mentors are being developed through this role to support first year students and as a supplemental resource for students on academic notice.

Sharing her life experiences has shown to be of great benefit towards helping students. Therefore, she feels she was made for this position. Her passion is genuine, and students succeed because of it!

Catrina loves working at PNW because “… this institution developed my love for student success while I attended the legacy PUC campus for undergrad.  My advisor got me through some tough times, and it was destiny for me to return the favor as an advisor at the institution that helped to shape me into the woman I am today.”
