Introduction

I am a visiting instructor of sociology in the Department of Behavioral Science. My research and teaching interests include culture, sociological theory, and research design and methods.

Research Overview

In my research, I use primarily qualitative methods explore how our past experiences shape how we perceive and make sense of our present circumstances. I’m especially interested in the connection between past experience and present meaning-making, and I have explored this link in a variety of contexts ranging from musical likes/dislikes to career choices.

I love being outdoors and on a trail. When I'm not in class or working on my research, I'm training for my next ultramarathon adventure.
