The College of Business (COB) at Purdue University Northwest proudly welcomed alumna Pamela Pokropinski back to campus as an Executive in Residence on February 17. Pokropinski, Vice President of Finance at Powers Health and chair of the College of Business Advisory Board, spent the day engaging with students and faculty, offering insights from her distinguished career in finance and accounting.
Pokropinski’s visit provided students with a unique opportunity to learn from a leader in the field. Throughout the day, she connected with finance and accounting students to discuss her extensive experience in financial reporting, process improvement and strategic financial management. Her visit emphasized the importance of connecting classroom knowledge to real-world applications, further highlighting COB’s emphasis on experiential learning in business education.
A highlight of the day was an engaging lunch in the cafeteria with students Ella Hylek, Mary Buksa, Lexi O’Connell, Holden Shimala and Ava Kuleg. Pokropinski shared valuable advice on career development, leadership, networking and seizing opportunities within the business world. Her passion for mentorship and dedication to fostering the next generation of business leaders was evident throughout her visit.
