Faculty and Staff Training

The Office of Institutional Equity is ready to assist you with training needs. We facilitate training to support the university’s anti-harassment and equal opportunity, equal access and affirmative action policies.

Mandatory Reporter Training

If you are a mandatory reporter, you must complete the online mandatory reporter training annually. A mandatory reporter is an individual designated by the university who has the authority to remedy and institute corrective measures related to harassment.

If you have been designated a mandatory reporter, you must report all Title IX violations of sex-based discrimination and sexual harassment (including sexual violence, sexual exploitation, relationship violence, stalking) and child sexual abuse, to the Title IX Coordinator on your campus.

SEE REPORTING GUIDELINES

For assistance or questions regarding mandatory reporter training, please contact Melissa Ramos, OIE Administrative Assistant, at 219-989-2337 or ramos80@pnw.edu.

Faculty Search and Screen Training

Office of Institutional Equity staff partners with the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost to revitalize PNW’s efforts towards excellence in its faculty hiring process. Beginning Fall 2023 through Spring 2024 semesters, faculty search committee members will be invited to these training sessions. Search and Screen Training is designed to increase stakeholders’  knowledge of best practices to ensure a fair and equitable search.

Please contact the Office of Institutional Equity to inquire about this training, as far in advance as possible of your first search committee meeting.
