Purdue Northwest has a continued commitment to the principles of equal employment opportunity. As such, we continually develop and maintain a written Affirmative Action Plan to ensure that our employment practices are free of bias and discrimination.

Valuing Diversity

Purdue University Northwest recognizes the value of a diverse faculty and staff. Purdue Northwest adopts the premise that, with effective implementation of affirmative action policies, over time the demographics of the Purdue Northwest workforce will reflect the gender, racial and ethnic profiles of the available workforce in the relevant labor market.

What Is an Affirmative Action Plan?

As a federal contractor, Purdue University Northwest is required to develop and maintain a written affirmative action program, which is a set of specific results-oriented actions and procedures to which the University commits itself. These policies do not relate to admissions policies. 

A complete affirmative action program includes mechanisms that enable the University to continually monitor and evaluate its employment practices to ensure that they are free of bias and discrimination based on race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin, ancestry, disability, genetic information, veteran status, marital status, parental status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
