Campus Safety Front and Center at Purdue University Northwest with Grant from NIPSCO
Purdue University Northwest (PNW) plays host to thousands of students, staff, faculty members and visitors each day, making campus safety a top priority. The university has many safety initiatives in place and one of those programs, the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), received a public safety education and training grant from the Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO).

Once again PNW has received federal funds related to pandemic relief that we will use to directly benefit students. We are disbursing $7.8 million directly to students who still have financial hardships and expenses related to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, PNW has forgiven a total of $1.7 million in student debt for 2020-21.

It is with deep sadness that we share the following information. Yueqi Zhang, a professor in visual communication design at Purdue University Northwest since 2009, died on Tuesday, September 7. He was 58 years old.
