New Schedule for Commencement Ceremonies

Beginning Spring 2025, Purdue University Northwest will hold a single commencement ceremony each year in May. The decision to hold a single, comprehensive commencement ceremony per academic year has been made after extensive consideration and consultation with various stakeholders to enhance the experience and significance of our graduation ceremony.

The outdoor May ceremony allows PNW to create a more memorable celebration for all graduates, allocate resources toward ensuring the highest quality event, allow for more family attendance and foster a stronger sense of unity and pride as all graduates have the opportunity to participate in the inclusive and festive atmosphere of spring commencement.

The following candidates are eligible to participate in the May Commencement each year:

• Students graduating in the spring semester.
• Students who fulfilled all the requirements to be eligible to graduate the previous fall semester.
• Students planning to graduate in the upcoming summer semester.

Students expecting to graduate in a future fall semester but unable to attend the following May ceremony may request to participate early by submitting a Request to Participate in Commencement Exercises form, which will be available on the website.
