New Faculty Spotlight: Kevin Hynes, Ph.D.

Kevin Hynes, Ph.D. is a professor in the Behavioral Sciences department. His research focuses on disparities in mental health outcomes with minority populations. He also has research interests in transracial, transnational adoption.
Hynes cited the quality of the Couple and Family Therapy program and the vast support students receive from the department as reasons he was excited to join Purdue UniversityNorthwest. He credits Megan Murphy and Christopher Belous for helping him to find his way as a professor and in the couple and family therapy field specifically.
His advice for students is, “Seek mentorship from professors and older students. They are huge resources that can help you achieve what you want to do.”
