Merit Increases and One-Time Lump Sum Merit Payments for PNW Faculty and Staff
Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that the Senior Leadership Team and the University Budget Advisory Committee have approved the largest salary merit pool for benefits eligible faculty and staff in 10 years. We have persevered these past two years, and our collaborative hard work has helped us remain fiscally strong.
Benefits eligible employees hired prior to March 31 may be included in the pool as follows: 3.0% recurring merit increase (added to base pay) and 2.0% one-time lump sum merit payment effective July 1, 2022
PNW faculty and staff put our students first throughout the past year, demonstrating remarkable flexibility while providing quality education, exceeding sponsored research records and keeping the university community safe. Together, we powered onward through uncertainty and continued to establish PNW as the premier metropolitan university in Northwest Indiana.
Managers will determine the allocation of the merit pool among eligible employees in each department and business unit. The Office of Finance and Business Services will distribute details about the available merit pool to managers in April.
The recurring merit increases and one-time lump sum payments will be reflected on the July 13 pay statement for biweekly employees and July 29 pay statement for monthly employees.
