About the Leadership Institute
The Purdue University Northwest Leadership Institute is the hub of leadership development in Northwest Indiana. We present dynamic, research-based leadership development programs for business and youth leaders within the university and across our regional community.

Our 2025 Google Non-Profit Marketing Program offers a comprehensive learning experience with seven in-person instructional sessions, online certification modules to build essential Google Ads skills, personalized one-on-one coaching and a certificate upon completion.

Foundations of Google Ad Grants
In this foundational unit, participants will explore the essentials of Google Ad Grant, gaining the knowledge needed to apply for and leverage it. Sessions will introduce key digital marketing concepts and provide an introduction to Google certificates, setting the stage for effective campaign management.
Session 1: Introduction to Google Ad Grants & Completion of Grant Application
- Learn the fundamentals of Google for Nonprofits and submit the grant application with the instructor’s guidance.
Session 2: The Digital Marketing Trifecta & Google Certifications
- Discover the three pillars of digital marketing and begin Google Certifications, laying a solid foundation for effective ad management.
Building & Managing Effective Ad Campaigns
This unit covers the core skills for launching, managing and troubleshooting Google Ad campaigns. Starting with an analysis of your organization’s digital goals, you will progress to campaign setup and optimization techniques that contribute to your organization’s mission and vision.
Session 3: Analyzing Your Digital Landscape & Setting Campaign Goals
- Assess your organization’s current digital presence and establish meaningful goals for your Google Ad campaigns.
Session 4: Launching Your Ad Campaigns
- Dive into the setup process, learning about targeting, budgeting and crafting effective ad messages to reach your audience.
Session 5: Troubleshooting for Campaign Success
- Develop the skills to identify and resolve common campaign issues, improving campaign effectiveness and performance.
Coaching, Optimization, & Strategic Growth
In this final unit, participants receive one-on-one coaching to fine-tune their campaigns and evaluate performance metrics. The unit concludes with strategies for ongoing optimization and a celebration of campaign success, empowering organizations with the skills to sustain and grow their digital impact.
Session 6: Results Analysis & Campaign Optimization
- Learn how to interpret campaign metrics and make data-driven adjustments to enhance ad performance.
Session 7: Hands-On Consultations with Your Coaches
- Engage in one-on-one coaching sessions to receive tailored feedback, refine your campaign strategy and address specific challenges.
Session 8: Future Success & Campaign Awards
- Celebrate accomplishments and gain insights into sustainable digital marketing practices to secure long-term success.
