Living Learning Communities

Living in the University Village Community isn’t just about our awesome apartments, there is so much more!

A Living Community is a group of students who share a common interest or goal. These students live in a specific area in our residence halls so that they can live, learn and grow together. Staff members from all over campus work together to offer programs and activities centered on the theme of each community.

Take your living experience one step further by living in one of our specialized communities!

More information about these communities can be found below or in the housing application.

The communities listed below are available for you to take part in:

The Gender Inclusive Community

We offer this community to students who, because of gender identity and/or gender expression, prefer this option. This community allows roommates of any gender to be matched together with the intent of fostering a climate of positivity, respect and inclusiveness. Students are encouraged to choose this option if they have respect and understanding of gender identity and gender expression. There are specific apartments that have been assigned for this community in both Peregrine and Griffin Halls.

To live in this community, you must agree to and sign our Gender Inclusive Community Agreement in the Housing Application online. If you would like to live in an apartment that has been designated for the Gender Inclusive Community, please contact housing@pnw.edu.

The Graduate and 21-and-Over Community

The First-Generation Student Community

This community is within the First-Year Community that lives on the first and second floors of Peregrine and Griffin Halls. This community is for students who are the first in their families to attend college! You will also live with other first-generation students in hopes of making your first year in college as smooth as possible.

Note: Upperclassmen students are NOT eligible to live in this community.
