Presentation: The Gem of Chicago Wilderness
April 16, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
FreeEcology and Restoration of a Great Ecological Area in the U.S.
This presentation, led by Spencer Cortwright, Ph.D., assesses the ecological quality of nature preserves in the Chicago area and shows it may be the greatest ecological area in the United States. We then consider how that came to be and we examine several key habitats in the Chicago Wilderness area. Throughout the presentation, we also consider restoration needs if we are to maintain our gold medal ecological status!
Located in the Depot building. Program participation is free. Registration is preferred. Arboretum admission fees apply for non-members.
