Butterfly Gardening Webinar
September 19, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
$5.00
The time is now to begin a butterfly habitat in your garden! Join Master Gardener, Dolly Foster, to learn how to garden for butterflies.
Our home gardens stand as bridges from one natural habitat to the next. Learn the best butterfly attracting plants and how to plan your garden to provide food, cover and host plants for caterpillars. The caterpillar/ butterfly life cycle is also an integral part of planning a butterfly garden and will be covered. Join a new conservation movement! Raising caterpillars at home will also be discussed briefly.
Monarch butterfly population numbers have declined over the past 20 years. As homeowners and land stewards, we have an opportunity to provide microhabitat for pollinators and monarchs butterflies in particular. In our session we will discuss challenges to the monarch butterfly and how we help by building high quality habits in our gardens at home.
Registration is $5. A Zoom meeting link will be sent to you via email after registering.
