Arbor Day Celebration
April 28, 2023 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Join the Gabis Arboretum for our 10th annual ceremonial tree planting, nature crafts, and a hike to learn about the arboretum’s tree collection. Not only will you learn about how to identify trees, but you’ll see some of the oldest trees on the arboretum’s property. Some of the trees are older than you think! Activities are appropriate for all ages. Plan to stay for the Stargazing event afterwards!
Schedule of activities:
5:30- Take a brief walk to the planting site and help plant the 10th annual Arbor Day tree
6:00- Head back to the Depot for nature-related crafts
7:00- Join the Naturalist for an evening hike to learn how to identify trees and see some of the oldest trees on property.
8:00- Stay for Stargazing with the Purdue University Northwest Astronomers for a few hours of stargazing on the hills by the parking lot. (Weather dependent)
The Arbor Day Celebration is free but arboretum admission fees apply for non-members. PNW students are always granted free admission to the arboretum.
Registration is not required but will help us plan accordingly.
