Frequently Asked Questions
No! Because Scholarship Universe uses single sign-on (SSO), your email shows as the Purdue West Lafayette email (@purdue.edu). As long as your user name in front of the @ is correct, along with your mobile number below that, you can click on “I’m Ready!” at the bottom.
You should answer any questions you feel comfortable with answering. PNW has brought into Scholarship Universe as much current information about you as we could – things like major, current GPA, etc.
Since Scholarship Universe contains both internal scholarships and thousands of external ones as well, the more questions you answer, the better your chances of finding more scholarship opportunities for which to apply.
You can pause answering if you need a break and come back later. And the system will give you breaks after a series of questions as well. Simply click on the question mark in the circle in the left-hand menu to go back to answering questions.
We have simplified the process as much as possible by bringing in what data we could about our students as mentioned above. This gives you a bit of a head-start in terms of matching with scholarship opportunities.
Additionally, the combination of external scholarships being included in the same place as the PNW scholarships means you will have an easier time identifying things you may wish to apply to.
Just because the system matches you with opportunities doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do. Click on your matches in the top right corner, review the list and then complete the applications for any scholarships you want!
The “matching ahead of time” is the system attempting to show you things you may already meet the criteria for, but it is not applying for you.
We are open for feedback! If something does not seem right or intuitive to use, please let someone in the Office of Financial Aid know. We will be evaluating feedback throughout this 2024/25 scholarship cycle to see if any tweaks are needed to be made.
