PURDUE UNIVERSITY NORTHWEST FACULTY SENATE

Resolution to provide clarity the process of disseminating admin survey results

For Discussion: March 14, 2024

Whereas: The Purdue University Northwest Faculty Senate Bylaws states that the Faculty Affairs Committee conduct “Periodic evaluation of academic administration”.

Whereas: The Senate Bylaws does not state a process for disseminating the results of the survey.

Whereas: The committee believes the greatest benefit of the administrative survey comes from sharing the administrative results with the administrator being reviewed and their immediate supervisor, and not the entire faculty, nor the faculty senate as a whole, which would then become part of the public record.

Be it resolved: Faculty Affairs will distribute the Results of the administrator survey to the administrator being reviewed, the administrator’s supervisor, and their supervisor. Further, results will be shared only with the senate executive committee. If an issue is found, the senate executive committee will meet with the administrators supervisor(s) to determine a remedy.
