Contingency Policy for Membership on Awards Committees

Nominating Committee

For Discussion

Whereas: The Senate is charged with creating policy and procedures concerning the Outstanding Faculty Awards given out each year on Founder’s Day, and

Whereas: The awardees are typically chosen by one committee for each award, those being for excellence in Engagement, Scholarship, and Teaching, and

Whereas: The Senate approved FSD 20-11 on January 11, 2021, creating policy on the population of the awards committees, and

Whereas: FSD 20-11 required the faculty of each College to decide on a method for selecting a member from that College for each award committee,

Be it Resolved: If the Nominations, Elections, and Awards Committee has not received the names of members for the award committees from any College by October 15 of any year, then the Nominations, Elections, and Awards Committee shall choose members for the award committees from that College entirely at their discretion, consistent with the requirements of FSD 20-11.
