Whereas: FSD 20-04 states-28: “…the final say of the content of the course syllabus is in the hands of the faculty member designated to teach each course.”
And Whereas: Faculty approval of curriculum, including the course syllabus, refers to program faculty that design and approve the curriculum
And Whereas: course instructors must provide instruction that has been approved through the faculty curriculum process.
Therefore, be it resolved: That the statement, “That while the Senate recognizes that staff can record whether an instructor has or has not submitted their syllabus by department or college timelines, the final say of the content of the course syllabus is in the hands of the faculty member designated to teach each course.” be revised to state,” That while the Senate recognizes that staff can record whether an instructor has or has not submitted their syllabus by department or college timelines, the final say of the content of the course syllabus is determined by the faculty.”
