PURDUE UNIVERSITY NORTHWEST FACULTY SENATE

Whereas: the number of senators from each academic unit is set in Bylaws III.B.2.3 as follows:

Academic Units with 1-10 Voting Faculty members shall elect one representative; academic units with 11-20 Voting Faculty members shall elect two representatives; academic units with 21-30 Voting Faculty members shall elect three representatives; and academic units with 31 or more Voting Faculty members shall elect four representatives. The Library unit shall have one representative.

Whereas: The number of voting faculty in academic units may vary from year to year, and

Whereas: A duly elected Senator should be able to serve out the full length of their term,

Be it Resolved: When apportioning the number of senators from each academic unit to be elected from year to year, the Committee on Nominations, Elections, and Awards shall leave in place all Senators with terms not expiring.  Reductions in the number of senators from any academic unit shall be by attrition only.
