Proposed Minor in Electrical Engineering

Required Courses (15 credits)

  • ECE 20100 Linear Circuit Analysis I and ECE 20700 Electronic Measurement Techniques (4 credits)
  • ECE 25100 Object Oriented Programming (3 credits)
  • CE 27001 Introduction to Digital System Design (4 credits)
  • ECE 36201 Microprocessor System Design and Interfacing (4 credits)

Elective Courses (3 credits).  Choose one of the following:

  • ECE 35400 Software Engineering Design I (3 credits)
  • ECE 37100 Computer Organization and Design (3 credits)

Required Prerequisite Courses: MA16300, 16400, 26100, and 26400; PHYS 15200; and a background in a programming language (determined by advisor).

Impact on Students

The existing minor in Electrical and Computer Engineering is being discontinued because separate minors in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering would better suit the interests and needs of students.  The separate minors allow students to better specialize and meet their needs. Primarily intended for students who meet the prereqs of the courses.
