The Roundtable Perspective: Cinema Under Stalin

Maria Belodubrovskaya, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Chicago joins host Thomas J. Roach, Ph.D., to discuss the history of film in Soviet Russia under the regime of Joseph Stalin. Belodubrovskaya examines how Stalin’s censorship and propaganda in film are often overstated.
New episodes air Friday at 8:30 p.m. and replay Sunday at 10 a.m. each week.
