SoEC Spotlight: Providing Virtual Early Childhood Special Education Support

March 9, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Presented by Associate Professor of Education, Amanda Passmore, Ph.D.

Amanda PassmoreThe recent events of the COVID-19 pandemic have led to an increased need for virtual special education and early intervention services. However, evidence-based practices and recommended practices with young children and their families through remote service delivery have yet to be fully understood. The increased prevalence of remote service delivery adds a new context requiring study to identify:

  • What evidence-based approaches work, for whom, and under what conditions
  • The implementation drivers influencing those outcomes

Join me as I share my recent research on virtual family-based coaching practices and a remote service delivery literature review that introduce considerations for future research in this area.
