What Is a Student Trustee?
One of the ten members of the Board of Trustees is a full-time student. The student trustee is the student representative to the Board of Trustees, serves on the Board’s Academic and Student Affairs Committee and Physical Facilities Committee, and has an equal vote on all actions taken by the Board. Any undergraduate or graduate student from the West Lafayette, Purdue Fort Wayne (PFW), or Purdue Northwest (PNW) campuses may apply.
The Office of the Vice Provost for Student Life oversees the application and interview process. A search committee interviews the applicants and selects ten finalists to be interviewed by Governor Holcomb, who then appoints the student trustee to serve a two-year term. This resolution concerning the University process for selecting the student trustee was approved by the Board on October 2, 2020.
We would love for a student at Purdue University Northwest to hold this prestigious position. Please reach out to the PNW Student Government Association if you have further questions.
To request a disability-related accommodation, please contact the Office of Institutional Equity at oie@pnw.edu or (219) 989-2163 five days prior to the event.
