Nafiz Shahrani, Ph.D. is a professor of anthropology for Central Asian & Middle Eastern Studies from Indiana University Bloomington and will be hosting a talk on Afghanistan and Forever Wars. What is the political and economic context for the US becoming an “Empire by Invitation” and intervention in Afghanistan for 20 years? Does a “military-industrial complex” influence US foreign policy? Should citizens be concerned about non-transparent and forever proxy wars?
