Electrical and Computer Engineering Hands-on Summer Camp

June 10 - June 14

High school students can enjoy an introduction to concepts and hands-on lab exercises covering the main areas of electrical and computer engineering.

Focuses include power generation, motors and generators, computer programming, signals and systems with sensing, and control of and communications with drones.

Camp Details

Schedule

  • June 10 to 14
  • Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Lunch will be provided.

Cost

  • $120

Eligibility

  • Students who are currently enrolled, or will be enrolled this fall, in high school.

Agenda

  • Module One: Introduction, current and voltage, building circuits and making electrical measurements
  • Module Two: Theory and testing of photovoltaic cells and DC motors
  • Module Three: Matlab and Simulink programming
  • Module Four: Electricity as a signal for control, information, and sensing with data acquisition in LabView
  • Module Five: Control of and communication with drones
