Birds of Prey in Northwest Indiana (Sold Out)
December 2, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
This class is designed to teach you about the 19 “Raptors” or birds of prey that are common to Northwest Indiana. Whether these birds are inhabiting the area or passing through on a migratory path, if you know their characteristics and habits you may be able to spot all 19 throughout the year.
This event is sold out.
Attendees will learn what a Raptor is, what makes a bird a Raptor and the 5 characteristics of a Raptor. We will then take a deeper dive into the habits of each individual bird so you can identify them as you encounter one of the most unique groups of birds traversing Northwest Indiana. The class is designed to be adult and kid-friendly and to have fun!
The class will be taught by Bruce Bocian, an avid birder and dedicated Gabis Arboretum volunteer. The class will be in the Depot building.
