
Asthma Care for Adults – Healthy Boiler Program

The Asthma Care for Adults Program has been developed by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA). This program has been designed to help adults and their caregivers learn how to manage asthma. It covers asthma basics, recognizing symptoms and triggers, asthma action plans, and an overview of different types of asthma medications.
The seven one-hour lessons include:
- Asthma Basics
- Asthma Triggers
- Controlling Asthma Triggers
- Asthma Medicines and Equipment
- Asthma Action Plan
- Communicating with the Asthma Team
- Asthma Management Goals
Eligibility
All benefits-eligible employees and covered dependents with the target population being those:
- Newly diagnosed with asthma.
- Previously diagnosed but interested in better understanding the disease process.
- With a family member/dependent who has been diagnosed.
- Interested in better understanding asthma management.
Program Dates
- March 18 – April 10, 2025
- Tuesday and Thursday (weeks 1 and 2), 11 a.m. to noon CT
- Thursdays (weeks 3 through 5), 11 a.m. to noon CT
Registration
Register via the Healthy Boiler portal. The registration link can be found under the “Healthy Boiler Workshops” section on the portal’s home page. Hover over the “Asthma Care for Adults” square and hit “Submit” to register.
