Esports Tryouts!
Good afternoon PNW students,
We are very excited to have everyone back on campus. This post will provide some information on what we have planned next week regarding varsity esports at PNW. We will send more information out next week regarding club esports.
We will be having a varsity title for five games this year:
- League of Legends
- Call of Duty
- Rocket League
- Valorant
- Super Smash Brothers Ultimate
Tryout Information
Rank requirements
The following ranks are required to try out for varsity teams:
- League of Legends – Master+
- Rocket League – GC1+ in 3’s
- Valorant – Ascendant 1+
- Call of Duty and Smash – no rank requirements
Please email Coach Bragg with the required information (listed below) by Sunday, August 27th at 11:59 PM if you are interested in trying out for any of the teams. If you do not email Coach Bragg by 11:59 PM on August 27th, you will not be able to try out for the teams. This is to allow ample time to set up the tryouts and create the best experience for those who are trying out.
If you are interested in trying out for League of Legends, please email Coach Bragg with the subject of the email ‘esports tryouts’ and the following information:
- Op.gg of your solo que ranking
- Student ID number
- Year in school (Freshman, Sophomore, etc.)
- Discord name
League of Legends Tryouts:
- Monday, August 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. virtually
If you are interested in trying out for Rocket League, please email Coach Bragg with the subject of the email ‘esports tryouts’ and the following information:
- Rocket League Tracker for your account
- Student ID number
- Year in school (Freshman, Sophomore, etc.)
- Discord name
Rocket League Tryouts:
- Tuesday, August 29 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. virtually
- Wednesday, August 30 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. virtually
If you are interested in trying out for Valorant, please email Coach Bragg with the subject of the email ‘esports tryouts’ and the following information:
- Valorant Tracker for your account
- Student ID number
- Year in school (Freshman, Sophomore, etc.)
- Discord name
Valorant Tryouts:
- Tuesday, August 29 from 7 to 9 p.m. virtually
- Wednesday, August 30 from 7 to 9 p.m. virtually
If you are interested in trying out for Call of Duty, please email Coach Bragg with the subject of the email ‘esports tryouts’ and the following information:
- Your skill division in league play
- Activision ID and Tag
- Student ID number
- Year in school (Freshman, Sophomore, etc.)
- Discord name
Call of Duty Tryouts:
- Wednesday, August 30 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. virtually
- Thursday, August 31 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. virtually
If you are interested in trying out for Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, please email Coach Bragg with the subject of the email ‘esports tryouts’ and the following information:
- Student ID number
- Year in school (Freshman, Sophomore, etc.)
- Discord name
Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Tryouts:
- Thursday, August 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Hammond esports arena – SUL 103
Tryouts will happen in the PNW discord. Please join the discord so you can have access to our voice channels during tryouts. Message Coach Bragg via discord that you are trying out so you can get the roles necessary to access the voice channels.
Esports Club
If you are not any of the required ranks to try for varsity teams, we will be creating an esports club. If you are interested in more information about the esports club, we will be collecting student information to gauge interest at the Esports booth during Welcome week. If you cannot attend, please email Coach Bragg with the subject “club esports” and the following information:
- First Name
- Last Name
- PNW ID Number
- Personal Email
- Discord name if you have it
- Game(s) that you play
- In-Game Rank if any
