Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation
Purdue University Northwest is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (formerly, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education).
The School of Education and Counseling at Purdue University Northwest (PNW) is accredited at the initial-licensure level by CAEP, the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation. PNW earned this national recognition by demonstrating excellence in the areas of content and pedagogy, clinical experiences, selectivity, program impact, and capacity for continuous improvement for initial licensure within our Teacher Education Program.
The following initial licensure programs were included in the Fall 2020 site visit and are fully accredited by CAEP: Early Childhood (P-3), Elementary (K-6), Elementary/Special Education (K-6), Secondary English (5-12), Secondary Mathematics (5-12), Secondary Social Studies (5-12), Secondary French (5-12), Secondary Spanish (5-12), Secondary Chemistry (5-12), Secondary Life Science (5-12), Secondary Physics (5-12), Graduate Special Education Mild (P-12), Graduate Special Education Intense (P-12).

The School of Education and Counseling at Purdue University Northwest hosted an accreditation visit by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) December 12-15, 2020.

All programs are state-approved in Indiana. The School of Education and Counseling works closely with the Indiana Department of Education to assure compliance with state requirements for educator professional licensure.
