Dean of the College of Nursing Announced
Dear PNW Faculty and Staff,
I am pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the search for the dean of the College of Nursing. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Amy L. Fry as the new dean of CON, effective Jan. 1, 2024.
Dr. Fry has served as the College of Nursing’s interim dean since July 2023. After joining the college in 2022, Dr. Fry has also held positions as a clinical associate professor of Nursing and director of Online Programs. These roles involved overseeing the college’s nationally recognized RN-to-BSN program and online MSN programs, as well as improving the efficiency of program delivery and facilitating compliance initiatives.
Dr. Fry has accumulated over 12 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Prior to coming to PNW, she served as a clinical nursing faculty member and associate dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Saint Xavier University in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Fry’s teaching experience has included active learning strategies and online instruction; transition to practice in undergraduate education; and executive nursing leadership and management. She is also a member of several professional nursing associations, including the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and the National League for Nursing (NLN).
Dr. Fry earned her Ph.D. in Nursing Science from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Lewis University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Trinity Christian College. She is a registered nurse (RN) licensed in Indiana and Illinois.
I also thank the search committee, chaired by Dr. Anne Gregory, for its time and energy in facilitating this search.
