Introduction

Sandy is currently a fourth-year doctoral student working toward earning her Psy.D. degree in Clinical Psychology from Adler University. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Biology from Northeastern Illinois University. Sandy is currently examining intergenerational trauma experienced by first-generation Middle Eastern American adults and the impact on attachment styles as part of her doctoral dissertation project.

Sandy has previous clinical experience working with individuals across the lifespan, ranging from children to older adults from diverse cultural backgrounds within a private practice and college counseling setting. Sandy approaches therapy and conceptualization from a Cognitive Behavioral perspective while integrating multicultural considerations to gain a better understanding of her client’s presenting concerns. Sandy’s areas of interest in the field include anxiety, mood, and neurodevelopmental disorders, with a focus on spreading mental health awareness in underserved communities. Sandy aims to create a warm and supportive environment to empower her clients as they navigate the therapeutic process together.
