Guest Speaker – Dr. Antonia Novello
September 27 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
FreeHear from the First Latina Surgeon General in the United States!
Dr. Antonia Novello, the 14th Surgeon General of the United States, was the first woman and the first Latina to serve in this role. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Dr. Novello was not only the first woman Surgeon General but also the first Latina to hold this prestigious position.
Novello is also a fierce advocate for youth, minorities, and women, with prestigious roles at NIH and UNICEF. In her presentation, she empowers today’s youth and minority students to dream big. This presentation is engaging and motivational as it allows us to think of the endless possibilities Latino students have in their careers.
