Smart Ladle Plant Tour at Cleveland-Cliffs Indiana Harbor

CIVS Researchers visited Cleveland-Cliffs Indiana Harbor for the Smart Ladle project on Tuesday, April 19^th. Dr. Judy Li, Lead Process Research Engineer at Cleveland-Cliffs hosted the visit and warmly welcomed Nick Walla, CIVS Senior Research Engineer; Yanan Song, CIVS Research Engineer, and Xipeng Guo, CIVS Ph.D. student. The purpose of this visit is to present the latest Smart Ladle to operators and management of Cleveland-Cliffs Indiana Harbor and take a tour of the continuous casting process for future research. As a result of this visit, Cleveland-Cliffs project members increased their interest in the Smart Ladle and began the first phase of implementing the Smart Ladle at Indiana Harbor.
