CIVS Annual Graduation and Holiday Party

On December 17, 2021, CIVS hosted an annual graduation and holiday party for all CIVS members and graduates. CIVS Director, Dr. Chenn Zhou congratulated all Fall 2021 graduates, thanked them for their hard work at CIVS, and wished them a bright future ahead. Faculty from Mechanical and Civil Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and School of Engineering office attended this special event as well.

In Fall 2021, CIVS has 10 students who graduates with outstanding thesis defense and excellent course works. Following are the detailed information: Congshan Mao received the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) with thesis titled “Numerical Simulation of Steel Desulfurization Process in a Gas-stirred Ladle”; Qingxuan Luo received the MSME degree with thesis titled “Numerical Study of Arc Exposure about Water-panel Overheating in an Electric Arc Furnace”; Xiang Li received the MSME degree with thesis titled “The computational fluid dynamic simulation of slab surface scale formation during reheating process”; Vitalis Ebuka Anisiuba received the MSME degree with thesis titled “Numerical Investigation of Air-mist Spray Cooling and Solidification in the Secondary Zone during Continuous Casting”; Hangbin Lin received the MSME degree with the excellent course work; Yanan Song received the Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (MSECE) degree with thesis titled “Video-Audio Emotion Recognition Based on Feature Fusion Deep Learning Method”; Myriam Changoluisa received the Master of Science in Computer Science degree; and Na zhu, Ziyue Liu , and John Estrada, graduate assistants from visualization side also received the MSECE degree together.
