The Center for Innovation thru Visualization and Simulation (CIVS), established in 2009, is a multidisciplinary multi-million funded research center which applies cutting-edge computer simulation and visualization technologies to solve real-world problems with academic, industry, and community partners. With its missions in innovation, application, and education, CIVS is globally recognized for its innovative approaches to developing solutions to complex problems. CIVS has made significant educational and economic impacts, serving as a showcase for PNW and the NWI region, highlighting the region’s commitment to innovation, cutting-edge technologies, collaboration, high-quality work, and real-world problem solving. CIVS houses a nation-wide Steel Manufacture Simulation and Visualization Consortium (SMSVC) formed in 2016. CIVS faculty, staff, and students are collaborating with 15 SMSVC member companies to provide innovative solutions to address critical issues related to energy, environment, reliability, productivity, smart manufacturing, workforce development and safety. Recently, CIVS was selected for a $7 million the award by the department of energy to lead a national team to develop a next generation integrated virtual blast furnace for steel industry. CIVS provides a collaborative, conducive, and supportive environment and culture for students and staff to learn and grow technically and professionally.
Administrative Assistant – CLICK TO APPLY
This Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support for CIVS. This includes acting as the first point of contact within CIVS for the public, assisting in budgets, hiring, payroll, and purchasing, updating and maintaining a database of contacts, students, visitors, grants, alumni, projects, collaborators, news items, etc., supervising CIVS student assistants for administrative support, organizing events, facilitating the travel arrangements for CIVS staff and students to attend conferences, industry visits, and more, and performing other duties as assigned.
Grant Program Specialist – CLICK TO APPLY
The Grant Program Specialist will work independently to administer and provide specialized support for all grant activity at the CIVS and the Steel Manufacturing Simulation and Visualization Consortium (SMSVC), which is part of CIVS. These include 1) assist in grant proposal preparation and submission, 2) manage all research and discretionary funds; 3) assist in reporting and marketing; and 4) serve as liaison between CIVS, University administrative offices, as well as external agencies, sponsors, and partners.
